I have a question ,a nd yes I searched, but I still want some ideas. I am going to be replacing the cap/rotor/wires/plugs. I know teh taylor wires and the NGB plugs, but for cap and rotor, I need some help. I heard Napa Gold, MSD seems like pooh from some of the posts. Any suggestions?
Thanks:tup:

Re: Cap and Rotor?

I think any auto parts store cap/rotor will do you fine. Just MAKE SURE they have brass terminals and not aluminum

I got mine at Napa and no problems.

Re: Cap and Rotor?

I believe the Conrad was replaced by the Duralast gold series, I believe they both carry the same part number and are one in the same. The cap and rotor button kit part number is DR2012G.

Re: Cap and Rotor?

I haven't seen a Conrad cap and rotor in a few years. Unless people are find NOS conrads, I'm pretty sure you can't get them anymore.

Re: Cap and Rotor?

I've been running an MSD cap, rotor, blaster coil for years on everything and I've never had a problem. I just switched to Taylor wires because they're a little cheaper and I'm just as happy with them as I was with the MSDs

I purcheased the Duralast kit, after finding out that it was the same thing as the Conrad. It looked like the only difference was the Conrad was red in color and the Duralast is Gray. I found an old pic of either Michael Hood selling tune up kits or Detroit Turbo selling them. there was a picture of the Conrad in the Box and it carried the same part number as the Duralast.

Re: Cap and Rotor?

I have an MSD cap/rotor and coil with Taylor wires in my truck and haven't had a problem. Accel caps/rotors/wires/coils/plugs/everything on the other hand are junk IMO. I have used them before on other vehicles and will never again. I have read posts on here saying the same thing about Accel on our trucks. If all you need is the cap and rotor I would just go to NAPA or any decent parts store and as stated above as long as it has brass terminals it should be fine. If you still need cap/rotor/wires/plugs and all I would go with one of the tune up kits from a vendor here.
