Yep, as bad as I hate too.... I must agree. I really just didn't think that it would be "that bad" or far off on the description with him being an exhaust guy / exhaust shop in the family etc. Your right and I will take the blame for that, my bad . I just thought a member would do a fellow member better I guess.

but the turbo might be a different story.. maybe he just DIDN'T know that the turbo was completely toast..

WOW, I am almost speechless. I doubt a metal yard would even accept that stuff as scrap metal. This is exactly the reason why I recently requested from a seller on here that he take a used turbo to a shop to be checked before I shelled out $400 for it. The seller might think it good when in fact it is not. Sorry for you James. I doubt we'll ever hear from 11secTy again because he would never pay $90 to get that junk back and he is too cowardly to admit he tried to schnooker you now that the pics tell all. A business lesson for all of us at your expense, I guess........oh, I definately hear the dogs barking, if you get my drift .

I have been following this since all the threads started and the mud slinging was going on.. From what I gather, James seems to be a straight up guy which was OVERLY patient with this transaction!! This thread just proves more that 11secty should be in the doghouse.

i too have been following this thread and the original from the start, and have reserved judgement, until i saw some pics.

never posting until all the facts were on the table.

well that time is now......the pictures tell all, james thomas has the proof, in the pics, and in the pm's & e-mails.

there is no reason a person should have to cut up an exhaust that small to ship it. one cut in the center, then put the two pieces together, shrink wrap them, and pay a small "non box" fee,to the carrier.

as for the turbo, it's junk,......maybe it didn't look that bad to 11sec ty. maybe he doesn't know much about turbo's. either way it is a paper weight that is way worse than decribed.

finally we have the issue of the "priority mail" vs "standard mail".

looks like james thomas paid for "priority mail", and recieved.........."standard mail".

with 11secty pocketing the sizeable difference.:tdown:

so in conclusion i vote for +1 on the doghouse for 11sec ty.........unless, he wants to pay to ship them back to him, and we all chalk this one up to a learning experence, about why we all need high rez pics of the item before purchaseing something.:2cents:

Oh hold on...... let me be fair and correct. I DID spend $390 but had to do a charge back when I still didn't have the stuff by the fourth month. As of now I'm only down the $90 for the shipping cause I got the $300 back. I just need him to pay the shipping to return it :squint:

Agreed Eric, see post #5 http://www.syty.net/forums/showpost.php?p=554942&postcount=5 . In my PM to him I said "On the turbo, maybe you don't know a lot about the levels of damage or repair, so maybe that's not your fault but your turbo is not worn, it's damaged bad. For another $175 I can get a new unit with a one year warranty, not even close to trying to mess with piecing this one back together."

Like I said, I tried to give every bit of rope I could :tup:

I agree but to be honest, it's real obvious that prompt follow up and straight communication are not his cup of tea. If I had a problem and wanted to make a habbit out of "splashing around in public" and trying to make someone look bad, I would damn sure stay on top of it and quick (if I were justified). Look at the amount of / number of times I attempted to contact him vs. his contact to me. I'ts very very clear that this is not a serious issue to him other than to stir up sh** and offer lip service (and bad lip at that) :tdown: I don't want to appear closed minded but after FIVE MONTHS now, and all my attempts to do right / be right by him, there is really not much that can make me change my mind :2cents:

Good to hear you got your money back. I am curious how you did that after a 4 month transaction. Isnt there a time limit? I am in a situation where I got ripped off, but its been months, and I dont know how to go about the process, thanks ---

I guess I need to jump in here as well. 11secty totally misrepresents his parts. I paid for a kenne bell lower intercooler that was supposed to have a crack "that any good welder could fix." He also told me that he would send the couplers with it. I opened the box (HA HA it was a piece of cardboard wrapped around the intercooler and taped, the ends were still open) there were no couplers and the crack was actually the end tank seperated from the intercooler core 1.5" or 2"inches. He took pictures of the good side of the intercooler. I thought at that point it was my fault for not looking close enough. So I also have a nice piece of nothing. And I am out $100...

I did wait till the very last day in an effort to work with him but it was done through my card issuing bank, NOT PAYPAL. Paypal's time limit is 30 days even though they are aware that tracking or loss claims take a minium of 30 days :rant:
