Hi guys, my truck has baer brakes all the way around but it wont hold the truck. I cant even build any boost off the line because they wont even hold the truck and it just pushes it. The truck also has abs delete. I even went as far as adding a custom made vacuum can that is 12" long and that didnt even help. Any and all help would be very appreciated.

did you bleed the system?

did you use the stock proportioning valve or 4wdisc valve?

guessing you changed to rear disc b/c you said all the way around right?

Are you reving in neutral before trying to brake torque the motor? I can only hold 3-4 psi with the stock converter/turbo without the rev in neutral.

That would be my question too. I have the Baer 13" front set-up and disc rear on my Sy and it holds like a brick wall. The Sy has run an 11.2 on the street so it's got some pressure at the line. No way Baer's all the way around shouldn't hold back a Sy or Ty.

Re: Baer Brake Owner Please Help!!!!!!!

Hi guys, I did try to rev it up to create more vacuum but that also didnt help. I also used a power vacuum bleeder to bleed all the brakes. My truck is built with a pretty big cam and that is why I put on an extra vacuum can. Im not sure if it has the stock p.valve or not. I bought the truck this way. I was also told that I might have to "seat the brakes" before they will actually grab and hold. I just cant believe that they wont hold the truck. Im baffled.

Re: Baer Brake Owner Please Help!!!!!!!

FIRST get someone to help you bleed the brakes with someone in the car

SECOND check what type of master you have on the car and what type of prop valve ... if you want it to work properly you should buy a master /prop valve out of a newer 99+ s10 with 4 wheel Disc

first off the master has a smaller bore so it put out more pressure which disc brakes require if you use the stock master it has an 1.5 inch bore which will give you a higher brake. The newer style master has a 7/8 bore ( i think) its smaller and give you more pressure to the brakes but will give you a slightly lower peddle ( with the big brakes you dont notice this)

NOW for the prop valve it is balanced for an s10 vehicle weight and will work how you want it to.

Then again you might have all the right parts and just have a booster problem .. you need to check everything and find out or ask the guy you got it from.

how much are the newer style parts? When you say master do you mean master cylinder? how can I check to see if my power booster is bad ? thanks again to all for the help.

Re: Baer Brake Owner Please Help!!!!!!!

you should be able to pick up a master cylinder somewehre rebuilt and just send your stock one back for the core charge i think mine cost me 80$ i think ( but then again i have a shop my costs might be a little different)

prop valve you can ether buy new ( will prob me most expensive part)

but you can also find both at a salvage yard or ebay for that matter...

As for your booster your booster should have a one way valve on it so what i would do is check if your booster is holding vacuum first run your truck then shut it off and then pull out the fitting in hte booster and you should hear a pssst. sound like it was under vacuum. if you want i can take pictures of how mine is set up and post them

i do have a 2wd blazer but its the same thing
