It was a nice run. Everyone who is wondering what kinda language is that on the timeslip... No it's not polish... It's Hungarian. :D This run happened on a Hungarian airstrip.

Anyway. One thing. This car still running on a TH400, right Les? Shouldn't they replace it? AFAIK they run out of gear way too soon...

Also this is 266km/h, but it was running 268km/h as well. It's 166mph. It should be enough for a very deep 8 second pass... Hopefully they will tweak the hardware a bit a make this time even better...

i'm kinda hand tied with the awd drive gears. i'm running the high gears in it now, but these front ends don't have many choices... basically two. the motor ran through the traps a little over 7k rpm. i could go with a higher gear set in the transmission... but it's super expensive. also, i have to be able to mate up an output shaft to the awd. i admit i have some thinkin to do....

this was the first time out with this motor. i sent the motor a while back, but it never go put in. it needed to be reassembled and i got the intake over there later than the motor and then we changed heads before it ever even got startedup. there was like an hour of tuning in the parking lot of the shop in warsaw and then a little more time in hungary before the race so it has a ton more work to do on it. but this motor is a beast so we're definitely not even close on full power with only 20 pounds of boost. you'll notice on some of the videos that it's blowin a lot of black smoke out on the bottom end. i'm pretty sure we took it out again right now it would run 8.5 or 8.6. so this winter will be a time to do a lot of catchin up. i know this. if i work as hard on this thing next year as i did this, gregs gotta make my name on the back MUCH BIGGER... :tup:

i'm not sure if the run is the one that was the video is it, but i'm pretty sure the 8.8 run had a passenger in the car... :rotf:

so you see... they do give rides :D

Yep. The run was made with a passenger. I know the guy, 180lbs extra weight... :)

Put a built 4L80e in it...

As I heard that turbo is so huge it's not making serious boost in first gear. Probably that's why it's producing black smoke from the line. I guess it could be corrected with programing, though...

They are using N20 to spool the turbo, right? But if they do they run out of gear around 1200ft... So it will need a 4 speed tranny for sure. Probably it would make sense to experiment with a smaller turbo as well... Just my 2cent...

i agree. only a hundred shot at the launch to help spool the turbo and it gets shut off real early. the turbo is mammoth... :--( but the downrange power is also mammoth...:--) one thing about not making huge power at the line is it's easier on the tran, rear, and front. and as martha stewart would say... ''thats a good thing''

i think the better way would be if i could run taller gears in the front and rearend. but the small front is limited. on the next one of these things they build :) i'm for using a better unit than than the sy. 3 gear changes are faster than 4. but you're right. if it keeps going faster we're in trouble. you gotta remember. i didn't know this thing was eventually gonna run 180mph. shit, who am i kiddin... i didn't think it was possible to turn an awd sy unit hard enough to go 180mph... :rotf:

if you go to another race and they're there walk up and introduce yourself. they speak english. they're friendly

so tell us greg.... is it true that this les guy is an absolute genius with motors and transmissions and makin cars go fast and stuff? and is it also true that he's one of the biggest chic magnets around? that the polish government recently passed a law proventing him from coming into the country too many times for fear of all the women leaving their husbands...?

i hear he's a really great, smart, generous, intelligent guy. humble too... :2cents:

I don't suppose you could get a 30" tire under there, either... with 3.08 gears, that'd be good to 196 MPH, assuming you're spinning it to 7 grand.

this 18 degree bowtie block with the special bore stroke combination is probably good to about 9200 rpm so it's not even making full power yet. i'd like to limit it to about 8500 plus but 9k is not really a problem

if it were a normal car i'd throw a big converter with a 5000 something stall and rev it high. turbo would spool better. but i have no idea what will happen to the underneath of this thing with 6 or 7k rev launches.

well, acutally i do have a litte idea what would happen :dizzy: that's why i'm not gonna do it... i also don't want to think about going down a track in a little awd unit from a compact suv at 190 mph

We have TCI 2400stal converter write now and he is working-but I think we should take 3000stal for better spool- I tested 3 of them (3000ss)and all was not too strong and was problem with keeping revs-thats why i return to 2400

What brand with 3000stall we should take for TH400 and about 1500hp?
