Hi Guys,

My GMC logo in the grill is black which I thought was original. Most on-line picture have the orange GMC....which is the correct one?

Early production = BLACK emblems

Depending on your truck, if it is original components... VIN number would tell all.

But there are the possibilities of.... front end damage, parts being replaced. Possible typhoon grille?

Or somebody bought and replaced them because they liked the black ones better.

I have an early production Sy and had a mid production and late production Sy. All were and are Red. I went to several shows in the 90's and never saw a black bowtie on a Syclone.

Here is a original black emblem that was on my truck I pulled off. Not painted!

Here is a brand new unused black emblem never mounted ! The only visual difference I see between the two right now next to each other is one has the part number with a large 1 next to it, Can not be seen in the 1st pic, and my back up has a large 2 stamped on it.

Syclones had red GMC.

The Black GMC emblems were installed on 92 Typhoons. At some point during 92 production the letters were changed to red.

93 Typhoons had red also.

Owners changed out the red with black emblems on many trucks.
