Hood Lifter Kit - not group purchase (yet)

I've found a vendor who wants to start making a kit similar to what I used to make.
If you are near or in Dexter Michigan, drop me a PM.
He needs a truck to measure. 2-3 hours max. Probably will provide a free kit to the prototype.

Are you still selling propshaft loops? Do you have a website?

One thing to mention that I never got around to figuring out is how to make the kit work on a fiberglass hood. I had one of your kits on another Sy with a factory steel hood for years and it worked beautifully, then I sold that one and put the kit on my other Sy with a fiberglass hood. I don't think I ever even got it closed once before it seemed like the screws were pulling out of the fiberglass, if they can find a way to fix that it would great!

Sorry for the thread :hijack: but shouldn't that be really easy? A decent sized aluminium panel moulded to fit the stock location then glued onto the fibreglass - just needs a big enough panel right?

/off topic.

Phil... Are you going to use the longer rods? I bought a kit back in the day and the 2" extra on the gas struts made it epic.

Great kit, recommended!

Probably, but I never bothered to work on it, just figured I'd mention it since not everyone has the ability to fab stuff like you and I.

Hey Phil PM the details. I go through Dexter everyday to go to work.
I have one of your kits on my Typhoon from back in the day. Should be getting the truck out of storage soon.

How much did you charge for these kits back in the day?

Normal price for these were about $90.
GP's averaged $65-80.
Canada was around $125
Belgium, UK, France, Japan was around $150

Made and sold them for about 6 years.
Last one was 4 years ago.

I needed to stop making them because I simply ran out of time.
Several guys also did rivet an aluminum plate to the bottom of their fiberglass hoods and got them to work great.
I did switch to a slightly longer strut also just before stopping production. (sorry)

Wade, were you ever able to get over to Redline Tuning to get a set of struts fitted?

Anyone near Dexter Michigan?

I have a supplier who needs a truck to test fit a Hood Lifter support kit.
