M5......

So, driving my friend home after work, i get cut off by an M5. He takes off and gets stuck at a light to the freeway onramp. Well i see him and i book it down the road and catch him at the light. I knew this probably wasnt going to go well but whatever.

Not even sure he was gonna go for it, I figured that since he was driving aggressively enough, he would take chase. Light turns green, we both ease into it, then i notice he starts accelerating faster so i speed up then he does it again and i mash it. Get about 2 lengths on him and he slowly reels me in at about 70. I cut out after he reaches me. Figured that was about what i expected.

So get my friend home then on my way home, i wanted to check my Truboost setting. Only set at 40% DC, eh, whatever. Then i remember that i can check max boost for the drive. I maxed out at 13.1psi. HAHAHA oh well, till we meet again M5 with alky and 18-20psi.

Plenty of those driving around here... or so it seems.

most of them are mock up's. a true M5 is hard to beat.
if they gun it, and I'm in pursuit, I need to hit the brakes. WTF

a true latest gen M5 goes like banana. and then it's fun.

Nice! E60 M5s run mid 12s at about 115 with strong gearing up top. With a stock turbo even with alky and 18-20psi, your best bet is stick with a dig run as that would be a good race in the 1/4. They are super strong from about the 1/8 on so it will be running you down.

i figured so. i wasnt expecting to win or anything but i probably took him by surprise when he realized he had to floor it to catch me. i have a 20g, TT VeloSyTy chip and 3" turbo-back exhaust. probably putting out around stock numbers at 13psi.

I readjusted my truboost earlier today and tapped 17.6psi. i would have held him for a bit longer... haha

Definitely. The name of the game with those cars is how long you can hold them off if we are stock or near stock. The 20g with a good tune will probably take a stock M5 in the 1/4. Just don't roll race them unless you go with a bigger turbo. :tup:

i hear you. i'm not much for roll racing since i got the Ty. I like the feeling of acceleration versus just going fast. that's why i'm hooked on turbos now. i love how it just throws you in the seat after a split second.

with A GOOD turbo and a perfect stall for that, and a tune. you wouldn't be scared to race from a roll, serious

My boss's weekend toy is a 00' M5. Turn the DSC off and engage sport, a syty at this elevation (4500') would have a hell of a hard time past 50-60mph.
