car was a 2011 with an intake, headers and full exhaust along with a tune. he was running a set of new perelli's and I gotta say it hooked waaayyyy better than I was expecting. I gave him the hit and he started with about 1.5 lengths before I left the line. my trucks still doing that goofy 15psi thing until third when it will finally hit 20...can't wait to fix that and be doing 25 down the whole track...

Whats done to your truck?

Id love to post this on Camaro5 since a bunch of people over there think their V8 is the best thing since sliced bread and pound on anyone with a V6 any chance they get.

Beating a modded SS just makes this vid all that much sweeter. :rotf:

Time to show them whats up

Re: took a camaro ss

last year the truck was running a 12.54 @ 108 with some issues I hope I've somewhat hammerd out.

performance mods are;
comp 412 cam
probe forged pistions (stock compression) scat crank and h beams
20G turbo (0-60@15psi, 60+@20psi...something I need to fix)
alky control
walbro pump
l35 heads (no porting or anything)
Code59 tuned by myself
vig stall converter that stalls around 3400
cone filter?
thats basically it, stock injectors, FPR, fan, intercooler and everything else. lotta other stuff on there thats ment for autox and basic duability.

If I can get my boost issues figured out and power 20psi down the track I should be in the 11's, the 12.5's were done at 0-60 @ 8psi 60-80@18psi and 80+@14psi...leaky manifolds were found over the winter...

Re: took a camaro ss

stock controler with a precision actuator on the internal gate. I've verified that its working, I havn't tried to tune it yet this year, I know i had it backed off to minimum boost for my 17c last, but I've changed back to my 20g and havn't messed with the settings. I figured for my first run it would be fine. I don't really want to go to an external gate if I can help it.

If I were you, I'd roll over to Grainger and get one of their solenoids. Hook it up and see if it gets any better. If not, you have Wastegate issues. Once you figure that out and get a solid boost line you will notice a pretty decent difference.

Re: took a camaro ss

yep stock injectors, and stock pressure regulator. I'm running the injector duty cycle at 148% which is a huge no no, but the meth seems to make up the difference and I don't get any significant knock.

tyti- I need to talk to you more about your granger solenoid idea, I am not sure I understand it, but I am willing to try it. I know that if I can get it at 20psi down the whole track I could be in the 11's no prob.

and yea, its pretty basic. again, alot going on with other stuff, but as far as going in a straight line goes thats really all the power adders. I don't know if the much stiffer suspension really helps the launch or not, but Its way different than stock. I am an advocate for the mild build and extensive tune approach. I could go faster if I didn't care about the truck, but its waaayyyy to nice of a truck to tear up. it still looks stock even under the hood...this is part of the reason for my 3800 blazer build I'm doing...people even on this site are going to be upset with what that does for how little is in it, muhahaha....
