Is there a way to tell if its off the truck? numbers or anything?

I don't know off the top of my head but I do have one in my garage. I will look at it and post up the casting numbers tonight.

I heard that a jeep cherokee has same box, not sure on how to id or what years?

casting numbers mean nothing. The ZQ8 box has various ratios and the only way you can tell is by disassembling it or measuring the turns by hand.
