Re: Does any one have a 3.8 grand national motor.

Ive got a 3.8 that was built by my father in the mid 80s. Its dirty but it has 0 miles!! It was originally installed in a 32 Ford Chassis and ran only. He decided to take it out and install a sbc because he intended to sale it when he got the car finished. Very wicked sounding little engine!. Machine work was done by Jim RUGGLES ( RUGGLES PERFORMANCE) a very noted 3.8 buick guy. It would need to be tore down and put back together in my oppinion after sitting for 20+ years. Engine made 280 to 300 hp.
Make me a offer if interested!

Re: Does any one have a 3.8 grand national motor.

Ok I know wrong forum, But you guys help out alot better than the guys at the buicks forum. And everybody over there wants to bend you side ways for it. But here ya'll are into 4.3 instead of 3.8 and work out better for me. I have been a member for a long time but forgot user name and password after selling my Ty at the SyTy Nats X. I need the whole engine and tranny plus comp. I bought the car with out it was going to put 406 in it that ran 12.5's all day without NOS. but rather go back to turbo.

How many head bolts per head? 8 or 16? (Difference between stock block/stage)

That's the smartest thing to do!!! You can run 11's with a stock block engine and get 20mpg going back to turbo buick!

I'd never seen pictures of the Buick powered S-10.. cool!

Seriously... No need to make multiple posts. You already have one thread going that's gotten several hits. Threads merged.
