Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Congrats on actually driving it! I can't wait til I get to do that again.....

Yeah, now that it's "high mileage" (43,995 as of today) I feel a little more free with it.

Actually, all that down time (bad fuel pump) made me appreciate it more and wanting to drive it more when it's running right. I know you ALL can relate. ;)

I shoved the motor back into the bay, couldn't get the RPM plates to match up with the polyurathane mounts. Yanked the motor out, changed over to solid mounts and still wouldn't match. Yanked the motor out, dropped the front diff and changed back over the OEM plates and mounts...and shoved the motor back in and bolted it down. Mated the engine and transmission and left it at that for the weekend.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Well after 17+ years and 136000 miles, countless passes at KCIR, alot of hard miles my tranny finally bit the dust... And even better, it didn't leave me stranded....no second or 4th gear but it will a least move... Time to start planning the replacement I guess. I woke up having a weird feeling that something was going to happen today...At least it got me to my tee time and home lol

Something I vary rarely do. Hit the fwy and pegged the spedo. Didn't stay there long though. Believe it or not there's a smooth stretch of Calif concrete just north of here. Sy was solid all the way. It would be interesting to see how fast this thing would actually go, it was still pulling when I let up. :syty::thumbsup:

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Replaced the starter yesterday, took it for a long run, and washed it today. Depending on when the snow flies and they begin salting, driving season is winding down for the year.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Had the ty in the shop to get it checked out and tweak whatever was needed...

This past week -

New TCC solenoid

New oil pressure switch

New Fuel Pump Relay and Fuel Filter

New Harmonic Balancer (old one broken in half - timing off)

New plugs, wires, cap/rotor

New heater core

Install the tie down strap that I bought from the GP (looks good )

Rewire my ATR intercooler pump and flush resivor (it works again)

Fix the vaccum leak from the open hose they had left when they removed the cruise control.

She's running great now! Next step new injectors to fix the ancient stockers and pop in a new 255lph pump. Let me know when the next wrenchfest is...I need all the help I can get

Put in a CS144 alternator after I found the stocker to be f'ed. Starting making noise, so I checked and i could hardly spin it by hand. Truck runs much better now too.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Picked up the truck from the bodyshop ... its fully insured and registered. Those bastards THREW AWAY my front bumper cladding and bumper support even after I told them to keep the stuff ATLEAST 3 times ( the damn truck was in the shop for a month ). The parts needed work, but I think they could have been fixed. I AM SO PISSED!!!

On the way home I was reminded of the crazy shaking I was experiencing before he rested for the last 19 months :( . Now the BRAKE light is stuck on too for some reason, lol.

Ahhh, the fun begins ---

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Purple wire fix, and a $15 junkyard starter cause I'm poor right now. Works great. Going to go out and start on the heater core in about 15 minutes.
