First datmaster run

Re: First datmaster run

Your intercooler is not working very well because your IA temps are way too high. IA temps generally should not be more than ~40 F over ambient temperature. Check IC pump functionality for starters then check for kinked hoses and examine the flow of the fluid in your Charge Air Cooler.

I'm not an expert but I know the IA temps are definitely too high.

alright thanks, ill check that. Does anything else look off, because it always idles teriibly and almost dies, and has a faint gas smell?

I've only had a Ty for two months so I'm not the authority on this, but it does sound like there are some issues that I'm not noticing in your file. Hopefully a more experienced member can give you more guidance than I can.

Re: First datmaster run

I'm having trouble opening the file, so I didn't look at it. But a caution regarding IAT: If you have functioning EGR, the IAT's can be as high as 190+º at cruise at part throttle. Exhaust gas is hot!. EGR goes to zero on boost. But it takes time for the IAT to come down.

Just a heads-up on IAT with functioning EGR.

Thanks for the clarification Dave.

I examined the file more and noticed that your Voltage was at 12.5 at WOT. From what I've read on here being in the 13s for voltage is optimal.

Holy big file batman, my quick math has this as a 10 minute drive. I would take smaller samples. His truck do have the EGR enabled in the chip. Your idle does have some bad spots, the O2 Sensor said it was staying rich at the first stumbling. It might be the O2 sensor is lazy, but it also might ignition related (missing).

haha sorry, and that sounds more at the center of the problem. Whats my next step?

More like a 50 minute drive

How many miles does your truck have? Have you recently replaced you cap/rotor/plugs and wires? If those are new I would think about replacing your O2 Sensor.

my truck has 54,000 miles, i just changed my plugs, wires, and cap and rotor less than 1000 miles ago. So ill buy a new o2 sensor and should i get my timing checked?

Do you have the correct plugs? Does your truck have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

yes i have ur6s gapped to stock, and i dont have an adjustable regulator, should i get one, i cant understand how my fueling is in my file

Re: First datmaster run

Well, just fired up the 'puter to look at this.... I'll just make a list as I go through it.

1. You may have a vacuum leak, or a sticky IAC.... look more like leak though..
2. I just saw 15.5 degrees of KR... probably due to lean AFR's... you're AFR at that point is 13.0.. I'd think you'd want it down to 11.4 or so to try and help combat the knock.
3. Your tranny is shifting nice and tight, but it looks like you're letting off the throttle between the 1/2 shift... I wouldn't do that cuz it can cause a bunch of drivetrain snatch. :(
4. IAT's are a little high but you did a lot of driving and a lot of throttle roll-ons which will keep adding heat. You're at 156 at the end which is pretty darn high... I'd work on that.
5. Voltage dropped a bit - to 12.6 - during one WOT run... I'd do the isolation trick to the ECM or injectors to stabilize that.

Nothing real drastic that I can see.

With a stock chip an AFPR isn't require. Have you replace your Fuel Pump yet?

The injector pulse width and VE is the ECM fueling. Lterm Count and STerm count is how the ECM is com[pensating (closed loop) The O2 sensor level can tell if it rich or lean typically during part idle the O2 sensor is cycling between 100-900mV, at WOT it should be about 900mV-930mV.
