What turbo is this?

These are a few pics taken by "The_Butcher" overseas....trying to figure out just what the hell he has for parts and how to help him out. Is this one of ATR or KB's deals from back in the day? Anyone seen anything like it? Also.... your thoughts on the downpipe? Thanks fellas....

What are the numbers/letters on the compressor cover? Is the downpipe stock with a modified flange for the turbine housing perhaps? I dont see oil feed or return lines on that turbo... Very strange..

I just got off the horn w/ Saad and the turbo does have 2 lines going to it. He said they are leaking pretty bad but intact.

His description of the tranny sounds terminal. If you fire it up and put it in gear quick, you can move the truck. After it warms up, putting it in gear kills the engine instantly. :tdown:

coz i'm realy shucked when i see what you guys say about my turbo !!!!!!!

yes adam i found two pipes under the turbo as T-56 said big and small one covered with oil.

and adam what do you mean by the ATR or KB's deals .

so i'll be waiting for ur reply,to tell me about ur turbo

ATR and KB used to offer aftermarket turbos for our trucks, he was wondering if maybe the turbo you have is one of the old school KB or ATR units.

Your turbo is just very strange looking, its not a typical turbocharger that you would see bolted to our trucks.

I'm not 700 savvey, can it be unplugged like some other GM's for the purpose of diagnosing or moving the truck instead of pushing it?

and sorry the stuped question what should i put in the intercooler??

i'm waiting for you guys to tell me what the hell is wrong with my turbo!!!!!!!!

A 50/50 mix of antifreeze and coolant will work just fine in the intercooler.
There's nothing "wrong" w/ the KB or ATR turbos that I know of, it's just different.

I agree on the TCC analysis; it can be unplugged by looking under the truck, near the front propshaft, on the side of the transmission it is usually a tan 4-wire Weatherpack plug sunk into the tranny. It can be disconnected easily and drove around with no TCC Lockup (just don't cruise on the highway or the tranny will get extra warm without a lockup).
