I just got a syclone, knowing some about them but not much. Many people have giving shit about my car having a v6, and they told me that there is no way that it can beat a v8. I havent had the time to take my car to the drag stip, but im wondering what the specs of my syclone is, and what all i COULD beat. Just tell me some things that others have taken on. boste my confidence.

my bone stock syclone down to the paper filter ran a 13.6 at 3500 elevation. on the street from stop light to stop light theres not anything that can touch you. i have put about 4 cars on a srt10 truck i have even beat an sti. but on the freeway is a different story stay away from any ls1 powered car epecially if its a 6 speed. but if you go from a dead stop and you know how to boost launch your not gunna find any car to hang with you.

I just ran a 13.54 in basicly stock trim at 0' Elev. two fridays ago. Thats with z06 wheels and a cheapo 'cold-air' intake. Everything else basicly stock.

Like the other guy said, light to light, there's not much that'll touch you on the street. Highway is our weak point.

Oh and just so you know, there was a mildly modded Lightning at the track the same night. His best run was a 13.534 compared to my 13.544 but he was running slicks. So on the street I could have easily toasted him. There were plenty of Camaros and Mustangs running high 13's and well into the 14s that night as well.

i have a bone stock syclone,never been to the track yet. maybe next year i'm going to take it to gateway dragstrip. hope to see other trucks there.

Mid 13's are definitely there. It's all in the launch. IMHO

From a dig, ANY car is fair game. From a roll, your chances diminish proportional to the speed that you begin at... This is especially true for a stock turbo truck. A vehicle that can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in four seconds on the street is VERY formidable. Not even guys on sport bikes will be able to hang with you out of the hole if that tells you anything... However all bets are off if your truck isn't running 100%. Even in perfect running order, another AWD turbo car will give you a run for the money. My truck ran 13.7's before I started to tweak things.

Check out the KILLS section and see what everyone else is doing. I found that getting my truck in good shape when it was stock meant the world. Ive beaten all kinds of cars. Lost to quite a few too.

13.69 with 80k on the truck. Also clocked 0-60 in 4.63 seconds. Bone stock. Even using a paper filter!

Your Syclone will beat everything that is stock 0 to 60, Typhoon's 0 to 40mph, pretty much! These Ty/Sy's are crazy off the line! Line up with something stock, corvette, mustang,etc.. and you tell us who wins!

I have 93 Typhoon #1187 with 20k miles and the original owner I bought it from was a collector. I have over 50 magazines from Motor trend, Truck and suv performance 1990 to 1993etc.. I have a few articles that in 91a Stock Syclone ran 13.12 at 103.00 mph to 13.40's at 4.70 to 4.90's 0 to 60mph, a stock Typhoon in my 93 mags ran 13.90's to 14.00 stock at 98mph. Dynotec did a buildup on a Typhoon back in 93 in stage's 1 to 3 and ran 0 to 60 in 3.68 and 12.19 at 115.78. Hows that ? These baby's are quick!!!.

When my sy was my dads , he ran a 12.7 just bleeding the boost and with the wastegate ajusted.......but that was like 8 years ago :lol: , and those are free mods

my stock syclone with 34k ran a 13.02 on a cool night. i bought a 98k mile syclone this morning thats also stock and it seems like it would run a high 13. but then again its hot here in texas. it really depends on how you launch the truck tho.

Sy/Ty's don't MPH worth a crud with the stock turbo. It'd dinky! But MAN are they wicked in the 1/8mi or like others have said stoplight to stoplight. Just practice boost launching and tell'm you need a head start since you've only got 6 plugs :)
Watch their faces when you put 4-5cars on them off the line and they aren't catching ya~

Exactly what my wife did to a guy at the track. He looked over and saw a girl in a Suv an thought.. I'm not letting this girl get me.. espcialy off the line. (slicked caged mustang owner)... She spanked him... and that was her very first time at the track!

YOOOO, Word of mouth is going around that this guy in an old late 80's truck witha 454 in it and a new rear end is wanting to race me. he is wanting to put money on it! MY trany is out right now and i havent driven the truck anough to know its power. do u think i can beat this truck.. another one is a 93 s-10 with a 305, i know i can get him. he wants to put a 100 on it!

If it's a Chevy Big-10 or a GMC Heavy-Half, you'll beat him. No doubt that those were some very fast trucks for thier time (1/2 ton trucks equipped with the 454), but traction is going to be his limiting factor, as well as the weight/shape of the truck. If he's modified and has a full on street warrior, it'll put up a good fight, but you'll get him from a stop.
