It finally arrived...

Well, I finally got my new cowl hood. I just couldn't stand to see it here and not test fit it.
I'll get it painted when I complete the other body mods and install them all for spring.
I didn't want the same old cowl everyone else had so I got soemthing just a little different.

You should treat that GT better! Look at all that crap. ;) :rotf:
LOL, it's not near as bad as it looks
All of the misc SY/GT parts are in the bed with a liner and there is a blanket onthe roof under the box which by the way is just a flat piece of cardboard.

Had to clean out the garage so i could get all three trucks in for winter.

Yes, about 2" functional cowl. I seem to remember that they come from Goodmark GM and distributed through other companies. There is one on Ebay but I wouldn't trust that guys feedback rating.

Goodmark makes a good hood, wish I would have went steel rather than 'glass. Light weight isn't everything

yeah only reason why I went with a metal goodmark was fear of warpage of the fiberglass from all the heat these things produce.. I had warpage on my mustang so I guess that scared me off

Here's what my VFN 'glass hood that I bought new from their plant in Chicago looked like before I got it painted last year:

Yes, that is light that you can see coming through from the other side. It is considerably lighter than stock however, the surface will NEVER match the smoothness of steel. And the cowl "flaps" at high speed which isn't going to do the paint any favors...
