92 wht/wht I'm looking at...

So it looks like this Ty has a lot more miles on it than originally indicated by the odo.
Either the cluster was replaced or the odo was rolled back long ago. Not buy the current owner.
The guy is asking $10k and the truck supposedly has 65k on it. But if you look at the carfax http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43097 according to my calculations it could be anywhere from 92k and up.

Had the carfax come back clean I think it would have been a done deal, if it passed a mechanical checkup.

The facts: Pretty much bone stock except for a ATR upper IC & AFPR, Corvette sawblade wheels (owner will include stock wheels with purchase)
New ABS unit
Engine damper replaced due to slippage of outter wheel.
Paint has light oxidation, Just needs some PC applied.
Engine has miss at idle & on the throttle (looks like a plug wire problem)
Hear a tick at idle (sounds like injectors are seated to deep. Owner said 3 injectors replaced, so this may be the problem or a bad rocker or mayber related to next problem)
Detonation when he romped on it once (could be plug wire related, bad gas, fuel pump, fuel pressure, incorrect timing) I wonder how long the detonation has been present as we all know the effect it can have on the motor (broken piston, rings or hammered engine bearings)
Oil pressure was good.
Trans seemed to shift good.
Body straight, no roof rack, rear wiper deleted, interior clean.

Now I'm not sure what to do.
Suggestions?
Walk away? (I really don't need it, the Sy isn't finished, X-mas is on the way, etc..)
Go forward? Get it checked out & ask for a lower price. (I'm really Jonesin' for a turbo ride, my Civic just ain't cuttin' it 7 days-o-week, it's white (I'm tired of 2 black trucks) & I really want a Ty.)

The detonation would scare me.I would at least do a leakdown test on it.

Really though,if it was me,I'd check out THIS
truck and try to get a couple grand dropped off the price.

Well, the 13.49% rate the Credit Union wants to charge me may just end any notion I had now.
I guess I'll shop around & see if I can find something lower.

Probably not until this weekend. By the time I get home it's dark.:(

I did drive it in to work today. No problems. Oh how I have missed driving the Sy!

I fixed the hood not sitting flush last night, fixed the rear hatch squeak & adjusted fog light aiming.

Noticed HVAC control has a leak (constant "ssssss" sound in dash), rear end has lowering blocks (I'm already tired of hitting the bumpstops). So those 2 things will get fixed this weekend and I'll probaly throw on the mint set of stock wheels the guy gave me.

This will stay stock for the most part with the exception of the reliability mods.
Fuel pump and aux. tranny cooler are first on the list.

I second the pics. Oh yeah, how did you fix the back hatch squeek? I think I've narrowed mine down to the glass being loose/not latching all the way. My tailgate is new and aligned perfectly, but it seems the glass still wiggles after it's locked shut. Any ideas?

I lubed the window seal with tire shine & I had some of that heavy duty clear silicone grease you use on poly suspension bushings.
I rubbed the grease on the catch & on the short guide pin.

Thanks Chris.
I thought the itch was a yeast infection at first, but realized it was turbo envy.

I had to drive it again today.
