How's this sound?

A friend of mine has a 90* bowtie block still in the crate. He has offered it to me at a great price. He builds race engines and if familier with forced induction. he owns a twin turbo Banks built Extreme. Anyway he wants to build a 4.030 bore with anywhere from a stock stroke to a 4.00 stroke V-6 with 2.02/1.60 heads. Providing I can get proper fuel and bumpstick for it I think it would be quite a powerhouse of an engine. The block has a GM # of 2534333,http://paceperformance.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=22349
it is the same as the one in the link but has nodular caps and grade 8 bolts. I was wondering what the largest displacement/wildest engine anyone is running. I'm pondering the idea of the build if it sounds resonable. Anyone have any words of wisdom? Thanks

I think he just got done building a motor similar to the specs in your post.

The guy that has the block builds race motors on the side. He is building an aluminum 572 with needle bearings for the cam. He used to race also. Also he has a head machine and is hooking me up with machine work to do the L-35's from Ralph.

roller bearing cams are cool but done do much for HP. and the cam blanks for them are very pricy for us. last time I checked they were 1k.

big cube builds are cool but to do it right expect to spend a lot of $. I have done several of them and I always told myself I wanted one for my truck but now I just dont know if I could justify the cost. For what you spend on one you could have 2 or 3 really good stock block or regular bowtie motors.

As long as I don't break mine I think I'll be one up on you.

Hey Waller, you say expect to spend big $. Is that for the custom crank? If so what one's have you used? How big have you done so far?

money is for the crank, rods, and custom pistons and all the machine work and balancing that goes with it. so far the biggest I've done is 315. I dont think you can go much bigger nor would I want to try. I have my cranks custom made and they stroke at 3.75" all billete.

Where do you get your cranks from? I couldn't use SBC rods and pistons with a bowtie block? I figured if I can get this block cheap I might as well use it, atleast I would have a good strong block.
