problem: just cant track down my knock. you cant hear it at idle but it ramps up according to dm. up to 40deg. so im driving a time bomb.
truck up to date: stock motor, 50# injectors, 3 bar and alky. drive terrain not so much, t56 and all big brakes and coil overs, came out real nice.
solution: option 1. I have all major v6 parts unmachined. block, crank, rods, piston, vortec heads and intake and cam. going to port and polish heads and intake and also cryo treat everything
option 2. I also have an assembled 383 long block. 4bolt mains, hbeam rods, 8.5:1 pistons(not forged)will swap out, and eldibrock heads. I will turbo
goal: I just want a fast truck. hell, low 12s and ill be happy. i want to go the cheapest and the easyiest route. im not going to be a cheap a**. im going to do it right. im just wondering which way would be best. though if im taking a motor out of the truck im replacing it with something strong and depenible that i will never have to worry about again
if i go v6, no questions asked, i know exactly whats going on. v8 though my biggest concerns and exhaust and intake.
