So whats the latest? I have the LS1 brakes on the truck and no e-brake. Whats the word on when someone will have these going again? Or should I just figure it out on my own?

Re: LS1 Parking Brake Kit Update

I did it with the Camaro brackets, cables and about $2 worth of stuff from a hardware store. Not as pretty as Jorgenson's setup, but it has worked for a year with no problems.

Hey, I dont care about looks underneath. I want function. My truck is going to be about a 4/5 drop from stock Jimmy 4x4 anyway. Itll sit low enough no-one would ever be able to see underneath.
What Camaro brackets are you speaking of? My brakes came from a 2000 LS1 Z28.

you can reuse the brackets that the camaro uses. as far as what brackets to use...they are all the same from 1998-up. hope this helps.

So if that is the case, why does everyone say you need to buy the kit that from what i have seen costs $200?

Ckeith and Turbodog, thanks for the help!

Turbodog, is that your page with instructions?

Re: LS1 Parking Brake Kit Update

Well the biggest reason the kit that i have available is 200 bucks is that is comes with new cables, which are not all that cheap to get made. Plus it is a bolt on solution that doesnt require any furthur modification.

Re: LS1 Parking Brake Kit Update

For anybody that may be intersted, we reached the 10 order mark for the LS1 ebrake cable kits in the GP forum, and the new price is 175 + 15 for shipping. If we can get to 15 orders i will pay all the shipping. I will be placing the order for the cables on monday morning, and from there it qill be 7-10 days to get the cables made and back to me, maybe less, at which point i will have the rest of the kits ready to ship.

See link in my sig for all the info.

Thanks
