My truck farts!!

I've now put about 20 miles on the new truck. Here are some observations:

So much more comfortable that the Sy...sorry Sy owners...it's day and night.
Really hits potholes or road imperfections HARD in the back...this is not helped by the lowering blocks as I understand it.
Yep, got the window rattle. No big deal...for now.
Does not shift as hard as the Sy, but idles smoother. Otherwise feels about the same, seat of pants.

Okay, the fart. When I take my foot off the accelerator, *sometimes* it makes a "fert* sound...almost like a child's toy or something. And sometimes it happens a second or two after I've left the gas pedal. I don't think it's anything major, but it is something I'd like to fix. I did a search and couldn't find anything. It's def. coming from the pedal area. Any ideas??

You sure your not just hearing the air rushing back into the intake after you let off the gas? Only other thing I can think of is the brake booster check valve that can make a weird noise when its going bad.

Re: My truck farts!!

I'm almost positive the noise occurs when I lift off the gas pedal, whether or not I hit the brakes. It's inconsistent, so I can't make it happen, but this is when it occurs.

I just did a search on brake booster valve and the noise is similar to what's being described (quack, whine, etc.)

Pretty sure it's not air in the intake...it's in the cab and right down at my feet.

Re: My truck farts!!

mine was doing that before I ripped the motor out. RPM makes a nice aluminum unit. Mine did it as I let off throttle. You can remove booster hose and cap it off and try. I was told to try that. I wanted the nice RPM setup anyways. :D

You say the sound is up front so i'm probably wrong, but my old Ty made that sound right after I had the cat hollowed out. Same time too, right after letting off the pedal, maybe it:dunno:

If you want stock then just go to GM and get part #18022219.

Be careful of buying cheaper replacement parts from parts houses i.e. Napa, Autozone, Carquest, because theirs doesn't fit exactly right like myself and many others have found out.

Thanks. $22 shipped gmpartsdirect dot com.

I went with RPM when i changed mine. I like the stainless steel braided design.
