Re: Need Help

Carefully? ... Calling a locksmith would probably be your best shot... you could also try the coathanger trick to get the lock, although ours are pretty stiff.

The other way (which also will damage the truck of course) is to pop the lock cylinder out of the door.... I would not suggest that

Unless of course you could push the remote unlock button on the keyfob with that coathanger

Any 'pop-a-lock' type outfit can get in easily with a slim-jim. Don't ask how i know....

I believe there is a way to pop the back window by doing something with two wires under the gate

Re: Need Help

I made a funny looking tool out of a flat piece of strip metal. Its got about 2" 90 bends on boths sides and you can curve it as you go as much or little as you want. I use it to grab the lock. You just have to pry the door open a little, ofcourse using something like a piece of rubber or cloth to protect the paint like I didnt and now have a ding there. A little bit more time and I would have avoided that.

Re: Need Help

Make a wedge out of a piece of wood, cover it with cloth so you don't damage anything. Insert the wedge in the top left corner of the passenger door. (the vertical line between the body and door) Pushing the wedge in will give you enough clearance to run a coat hanger or rod through (above the wedge, you'll see a gap between the wheather stripping) to release the inside door lock. I'm an X repo/tow truck driver, just in case your wondering how I know. Good luck!

Re: Need Help

don't wedge the door or pry anything. If you can use wire strippers and have a 12v battery...you can get in. last time i posted this info it was removed for safety concerns, so pm me and i'll tell you.

Re: Need Help

You can also just not lock the keys in the truck... that works great! Keep a spare around the house, thats what I usually do. Good luck

yea me too  the first time driving my truck after rebuilding it...when the tranny broke 50 miles later and it was raining...i locked the key in the truck (forgot seperate keys for door/ign) since it'd been so damn long since i drove my truck :rotf:

Smaug was there...his mouth just kinda dropped when it took all of 10 seconds to get into the truck. Guess he hadn't seen that trick before.

I think I know which trick you're talking about, come to think of it. That one had slipped my mind

Re: Need Help

Does this trick work on a SY? I've locked my keys in before and had to call a tow truck. Anyone want to PM me the "trick" for when I lock my keys in again?

Re: Need Help

it's typhoon specific. For the sy i'd just throw a cinder block through the window - works every time!

This could come in handy. Could you PM me with the details?
