Made a sweet leak tester today.

So for anyone who has noticed, Ive gone A2A recently and noticed my truck does not feel as fast as it did before. First thing I noticed was that Ild hit about 18psi and it would go down to 15 and stay there feeling rather gutless. So I figured I had a boost leak. Well, the bike tube trick is somewhat hazy to me still and never took the time to figure it out. Leak testers you can get for $30 but I didnt want to wait for shipping plus it didnt look like it would really fit on our turbos too good. So I went to the depot, Home Depot that is and got everytrhign I needed to do this. I got a 2" rubber 90* bend with clamps, a 2"slip x 1" thread PVC reducer bushing, a 1"x1" galvy nipple, a 1" x 1/4" galvy reducer bushing and an air compressor fitting. 1/4" ofcourse. Put it all together and with the exception of a few test blow offs that almost nailed me right in the face (before realizing 120psi was a bit too much form the AC) it turned out great. I had a nice leak at the throttle body and put a new clamp on and tightened the piss out of it. Seems to be doing much better now.

Sorry Tony...I dont think so. Actually, I had to turn my AC down to about 15psi and I hear a hissing sound. I did use the spray bottle at first and found almost all of my VAC line connectors are leaking somewhat except for the MAP and AFPR circut. So I kept hearing a hissing sound and couldnt find squat with hte bottle so I listened in and out around the throttle body and found that the shaft is indeed leaking. Pretty decent too. Guess its time to break down and buy a new TB.

So does she run better now?

Oh yeah!!! Shes definately back to normal maybe a little better. And with CODE$59 being used almost daily finally its getting even better. Unfortunately, I need a new throttlebody now.

I thought about it but I think I am just going to buy a new BBK 58mm. I plan on doing a GT35R in the next year or so.

You'll have to do some work to upper intake plenum opening, because those openings are only 52mm. Not a big deal, but just wanted to give you a heads up.
