9 psi with solenoid disconnected..help..

Made a few test runs with the wastegate solenoid unplugged and found boost of only 9 psi. no vacuum leaks. boost builds quick but stops at 9psi.. HELP :(

that sound right? The spring on the wastegate is set for 8or so lbs.

Correctomundo, 8-10 psi. on the base spring setting!

Yea no more boost for you until you hook up the solenoid

Thanks.. I was told that was a way to test for max psi.

to test for max psi unplug the vacuum line directcly from the wastegate, not the plug from the solonoid. I wouldn't ever recomend doing that because you will most likley spike upwards of 25 psi.

testing for Max PSI is going to result in your motor becoming disgruntled.

Unplugging the wastegate is the single surefire way to bend rods while boosting to max psi...

But it will test the limits of his bank account and credit cards. It is fun, everybody is doing it.

Sorry man, couldn't resist :rotf: . You really don't want to try a "MAX BOOST" test, just trust us on that.

You can still test it doing that but just understand that boost will be controled by your right foot, so don't floor it...if your trying to see if you can get 15psi or so, then sure...its a good way to see how sticky that POS stock WG gets. Just know that the pedal controls the boost so don't slam it down.

I tried that on my rpm turbo on accident and I saw 32lbs for a split sec. I shut it down quick.
