Re: Whats the popular TC these days?
The yank, the vigilante, and the Coan are all billet. Billet should not be the only determining factor. The vigilante boasts WOT lockups with it's multiclutch design. But is looser for street driving. The Coan boast streetability and lockup up to 500 HP with good streetability. The Yank boasts precision and efficiency, so much so that they claim an efficiency rating so high that it nears that of total lockup therefor WOT lockup is not needed but they retain lockup for street cruising. The vigilante has a quick turnaround. The Coan you can count on a couple months, the Yank is a few weeks. When you plan your project, plan it around your engine and how much you want to spend. And make a realistic time frame. They are all custom to what you order.
Cost.
Yank is highest cost, followed by Coan, followed by Precision(Vigilante). Prices go down accordingly.
None of these are in the same arena with TCI streetfighter stuff. TCI is more in line with Dacco performance line is a step above stock off the shelf kinda units. And the prices reflect it. You can't think your gonna get the same performance out of a $300 TCI as a custom $1200 yank. Just keep that in mind when your looking and be realistic in price goals. Basically how much are you willing to pay vs. what you expect out of it. I will be honest with guys when they call for a transmission about which converter they need.
