Ran inot a real cool guy this evening, he wanted to race from a roll but I told him no way. I checked out his 97 Cobra and it had hte KB Supercharger. He said it was tuned and all forged internals blah blah blah. He was on street tires. We caught a light out in the boonies and I launched with about 17 psi. It was a nice launch too. Left him back a good 4-6 cars. He never caught up and by the time I hit 90 I was still 6/8 cars out. Cool guy though.

sucker can't drive!!! plus why would he even drive the car looking for runs without some type of DR!

No my friend. I just don't know how you have traction on the street with a 17psi launch, but if you do then go for it. I dont' know why you would lie about it, so no i'm not in disbelief. I don't know how anyone has traction with a 17lb launch on the street. Wouldn't you admit that sounds strange?

My truck goes all over at 10psi and its max right now is 14psi. But if I could launch at 17psi I probably would just cuz thats some fun stuff right there :tup:

17lb launch on the street is pretty wicked.. I useally only launch at 7lbs and have ended the life of two stock propshafts and one custom built one.. haven't launched that high yet with the gilbert shaft i've had now for over a year.

What kind of shaft do you have in your ty mike?

I use my stock shaft. Recently rebuilt. Im not going to even waste the money til I do my 4L80. If it snaps and wipes out the trans I turn it into the insurance. Say I hit a rock in the road. My friend did this and it damaged out at $5k. FWIW, it doesnt seem I make a whole lot of power at 17psi. Sometimes the front end seems to get a little squirrely but all in all it hooks up very well. Abe (turbotyphoon69) and Austin (MHSTguy) have both been in it. So has Mandingo (tony).

It doesn't seem that strange to me. He has Z06 wheels with some fairly sticky tires. I've ridden with him before, he isn't lying :lol:

Yeah and on top of a built motor you ahve a good size turbo. I just have a puney (sp?) 20g.
