starter question

so now i'm about done putting the new motor together and i flipped it over to switch out the oil pan and pickup. and i find out my mini starter isn't going to work. i have a starter w/ the bolt holes inline, i need a stagger bolt pattern. anyone know which starter i should look for? what a pain.

You need to use a late model Vortec V6 starter, suposedly they are mini starters as well.

Honestly I don't know, maybe you try researching it on the S-10 Forums for balance shaft starters.

maybe erue can chip in, i followed his thread in his forum but he didn't mention the starter he used to fix it

He used a stock GM Balance Shaft starter. He tried using his SyTY starter but it didn't work.
