Check out my "custom" air box

Well I got my air box from B&M Industries today. Thankfully it was a very nice clean piece. I spent about 2-3 hours making this thing so try not laugh :lol: Here are some pics I took of it, I dont have it installed yet but will tomorrow since I have to let some paint dry, kind wish I didnt paint it now but oh well.....

:lol: My fault, here it is installed. Now dont let the fender get you all crazy, its coming off when I get around to painting the truck and Im going to copy Morgan with the T/A fender vent.

Actually, it is louder than it ever has been. And I will also say this, my truck runs better than it did with the cone. Granted I didn't have the biggest cone in the world, actually it was kind of small. But it still is very loud and the performance feels great. I might get a video card for my pc and if i do and figure out how to finally get vids on ill post some up.

I've noticed on mine if you run one of those cheap $9 pepboy cone filters the spool noise isn't as loud as a kn cone... maybe they don't flow as much as well??

Calm down about the fender everyone, its a Blazer fender and it cost me $50 for a brand new one. I did because at the time I wasn't thinking of how many people would make fun of me :lol: You should hear some of the things people around town say about me. But when they get raped at the light it doesn't really matter anyway. My purpose for doing this is because I had a cone flter and it was exposed and the tire was throwing water and dirt all over it and I really didn't feel like making a sheet metal enclosure for it. So I did this. Next time I get board, I am going to cut the fitting for the x-over pipe and just make it look flat. And yes, pretty much everywhere I go I am always thinking of what I could do to my TY.

Just buy one of those ATR airbox shells on EBAY, 10" of 3" od aluminum tubing & a cone filter. It would look more like it belongs there than the stock air box.

Yeah whats funny is that I did have red lights in there. I saw a pic of someone truck on here with some kind of light in there and thought it was the shit so I copied it soon took it out when I realized how lame it was.
