Little problem(hopefully), need some help on.

Took my ty out today for the first time since last fall, everything was good this morning, until I parked it and came back out. I started it up and noticed the turbo was really loud, and wouldn't build over about 3 lbs of boost. I checked under the hood and where the air filter crossover connects to the orange hose was broken and missing a couple little chunks of the plastic. Would this have went in and wrecked my turbo?? I just put in in the garage and havnt had a chance to look into it yet. Anything else i should check out as well.
If the turbo is shot, what kind of bolt on upgrades are out there?

Thats a common problem with the stock air tube FWICR. Turbo might be FUBAR. The upper intercooler might have caught the big pieces before they made it into the motor so that might need a good cleaning out. Ive heard many a turbo being taken out by this problem which is why i just bought that ATR AIrbox. Being in phx the sun cooks everything and im probly next on the list for a castistrophic air box fail haha.

Now you have a good reason to upgrade. The same thing happened to me a while back also. I went with the RPM stage 1 turbo and have no complaints about it. Its a direct replacement on the stock downpipe but you will need the 3inch cobra elbow for the intake.Im working on getting rid of that crossover tube so it doesn't happen again. Im sure you could find a decent priced used stock turbo or get it rebuilt if you want to save some money tho. Good luck with it!

Took the intake pipes off, and the fins are definately banged up and there is alot of up and down play on the shaft. Now what is the easiest way to get this thing off.
Also is there anyway to just rebuild this one or do anything else to it for a little more power?

well i have a good stock used turbo im selling and if you are not satisfied with with it ill refund you hows 200 plus shipping sound
btw no play in it any direction just dont know how many miles are on it
