Belltech tow hitch? Anyone ever seen or use one?

I found a local ad for a belltech hidden hitch and it says it is for a chevy s-10 years 1986-1992. I just would like something so I can tow my small jetski around which weighs next to nothing. Anyone know if this fits our trucks? I emailed and asked for a PN.

Might not work with the roll pan. See if they can answer that question.
As far as the jet ski - stand up or sit down model, year & make. My GSX ltd weighs 380 lbs dry and then there is the trailer. You could be 500+ lbs with fuel, oil & trailer. I know you don't have far to go to get to Candlewood but check on the weight first. The newer Sea Doos that are supercharged are over 800 lbs dry. I zero to 60 them so bad it's not funny - kinda like one of our trucks.

I've got a nice CL III hitch off a Syclone I bought. It did push up on the bottom of the roll pan a tad bit. Don't know what they run but you could have this one for $75 + shipping if you are interested.

It is a hidden hitch style, which is what I was hoping to get.

Never been to candlewood actually. Kinda far for me.
I have a 94 Yamaha Waveblaster. It's a 1-1.5 person ski. Probably weighs 200lbs. I can lift it by myself.

Rodent had one one his truck at some point, not sure if it was a belltech but whoever put the hitch on his truck made to where the license plate folded down and there was the receiver.

Ok heavier than I thought. I must be stronger than I thought too. :rotf:

I am in northern CT. I usually go to Congamond Lake, Rainbow Reservoir, or Long Island Sound in Old Lyme.

Sounds like you have a cool ski. You have a custom exhaust? How is it custom? Custom made? 183hp is pretty big number. I'm guessing I'm at 90hp, but have no clue. I just rebuilt it last year and I haven't even ran a full tank through yet. It has a head, bigger carb, exhaust, reeds, msd ignition, and k&n filter. My Uncle has a RXP supercharged. It's such a huge ski and it flies 215hp. It's like driving a boat.

I should ask him about it. I found a hidden hitch on etrailer.com, but it looks like it would be visible from the rear of the truck where the rollpan tapers up to the corners of the truck.

Rodent has a full pm box so that won't work. I'll try emailing him.

I do have a square hole and a fold up license plate that hides the hole but no hitch. Its how I bought the truck so I'm not sure what was there to begin with. I'd like to find a hidden hitch though. Would make it nice for my hitch mounted bike rack.

Cleared my PM's.

Thanks for the info.

Here is a custom hitch I installed, which comes out right behind the plate. It works awesome for towing my jet ski. I took a class 1 hitch off a 88 jimmy and turned it upside down and modified it a bit.

Re: Belltech tow hitch? Anyone ever seen or use one?

Well I picked it up for $80. It's a classIII hidden hitch from belltech. Goes behind the roll pan. It looks like it should fit no problem, it's the right lenght at least. I'm going to see if I can put it in and somehow have the ball come out under the roll pan instead of cutting a hole, but we will see.

I drove up and he had his custom 99ish s10 in the garage. Ghost flames, shaved rear, rims, lowered, lambo doors. Wasn't too bad looking. Then he asked if I needed anything else and I said what do you have. He had some sport mirrors that I would've bought if I didn't recently buy some power TY mirrors. Then there were plug and play diamond crystal lenses with bulbs that he said he would sell for $20. I had $12 left in my wallet and he said that was fine, so I got a hitch and diamond lenses with bulbs for $92!

UPDATE

I pulled the rollpan and went to slide the hitch in, but it doesn't quite slide right in due to a little clearance issue. I think once I slide it in it will be pretty good. I'm going to try to make a few modifications to make it fit this weekend. {fingers crossed}

Awesome, thanks for posting that. That is exactly what I want to do to my ty. What's a good source for a quality fold-up licence plate?

Re: Belltech tow hitch? Anyone ever seen or use one?

#%$(#!! After an hour or two of messing with it I decided to give up. I could have made it fit if I hacked the frame up. The hitch would slide in the frame ok, but I was unable to bolt the rollpan back on. I didn't want to hack up the frame and rollpan to make it fit.

I am debating trying another hitch from etrailer.com. Oh well. Anyone want a hidden hitch by belltech for a s10/sonoma?

how did this work out?

It works great. Never had problems . It lines up to where the plate right on point. I dont have a flip up plate. I dont think you would be able to read it going down the road. I just put the plate up on the dash.
