Finally home!!

Got back from the deployment last week, been spending most of my free time running around getting to know the Ty. I get some grief from the neighbors because of all the work my wife did to it herself while waiting for me to get back. It runs pretty good, but there's a definite miss WOT, and the stock boost gauge indicates boost building, then letting go, and building again. Now that I'm back, and always looking for an excuse to drive around, anyone within a few hours of Virginia Beach wanna take a closer look, maybe break out a data logger and see how it's doing? I'll actually be up around Tappahanac this weekend, visiting the wife's aunt and uncle. I still have duty back on the ship every couple of days, but should have time to look into it before Homecoming. Thanks.

Re: Finally home!!

Well, I'm putting as many miles on it right now, to see if this truck has the same mysterious issues as some of the others I've read about on the board. So far, so good. Just replaced all the plugs/wires, cap and rotor, now to enjoy the improvement, if there is one...... If the Ty doesn't make it, my only other option is the wife's Toyota Paseo, and that just wouldn't work.

Truckless. For now.
Re: Finally home!!

As mentioned ^^. Glad you made it home safe and thank you for serving! It's because of brave soldiers like yourself, that we can enjoy our broken trucks as much as we do.

Re: Finally home!!

Long line of service here, too. My grandfather and father were navy, my older brother started Air Force, ended with the Army for some reason, and my little brother is currently out in the sandbox working for the Air Force. If anyone wants to host 'em, I've got pictures of my truck w/ the sawblades instead of those goofy wheels the previous owner had. Still solid Royal Blue, no Argent on the bottom. Just did a tune up today, and this thing is almost scary fast. Still mostly stock, not sure if I want to trade "reliability" for more power, but it sure is tempting!

Re: Finally home!!

Hey, I've even got a picture of my wife working on the troublesome ashtray if someone wants to post it. Not to proud to admit my wife is a gearhead. Got an address to send them to, Merk?

Cool, someone pretty local! I'm going to a relocation class this morning, getting ready to transfer up to Everett Washington. Pm me with a phone number or address, we can meet up some time.

When you get up there I can help you locate the locals there. Although I don't live there now, I did spend 25 years there.

Re: Finally home!!

It'll be like homecoming for us, actually. I enlisted from Spokane, so it'll be nice to be closer to the family still there, and she was born and raised on the west side of the state. All in all, really excited to be going back. And there are a lot of trucks I'd like to see once we're settled in. Goodbye Virginia humidity as well.
