going on a diet

any suggestions on what i need to do to drop some weight from my '92 typhoon?
so far i have a set of '95 corvette sawblades and a relocated battery. no a/c and no abs. fiberglass cowl hood and no spare tire in the back. was told i can also go with aluminum brake drums. (didn't even know they existed) even thought of converting to rear wheel drive as opposed to all wheel drive but i guess it wouldn't be a typhoon if i went to rear wheel drive? the ty is down for now so i thought i could tackle some other issues w/the help of syty.net

you guys have been more than helpful so far so
if you could, please list where i can find items or who to contact. would greatly appreciate it. thank you

1- Smaller coolant resevior bottle. (any parts store)
2- Remove washer bottle and pumps
3- Rear window without wiper (junk yard maybe)
4- Remove roof rack if you have one
5- EGR delete
6- Remove charcol canister
7- Coil over front suspension will knock off 100+ lbs ( RPM and Tunetime I believe)

Just a few things I removed from mine, every bit counts

You have hit the basic for easy weight loss. I am not sure you going to see a lot of weight loss with Corvette wheels, rims will be lighter but the tire might be heavier. Jeremy Duncan uses 16" LS1 F-Body wheel's, those are probably the most cost effective weight loss interms of wheels.

Here is some weight of the rear suspension stuff that I did.

The front Coilovers are 70# if you leave the frame brace and sway bar in.

Here is a large weight loss thread.

Sounds like you are well on you way to not only a lighter truck, but also one that will be easier to work on... I documented the weight savings when I went to electric fans this year. So far I have done a 100% AC removal, ABS delete and manual brake conversion. Less is more

I've got the wiperless rear window, no defrost either. Glad to get rid of it, if you or anyone else wants one.

proof's in the pudding, huh? with both wheels in hand the saws seem to be lighter. guess it was psychological weight loss, or something? i have the 17x8.5 and 17x9.5. got them for $100 dollars. always liked them. well, like i always say "ah, the scale is lying!"

by the way, love that scale.
