So I'm attempting to remove some wires from the bulkhead connector on the firewall (engine side). All of the wires go into the connector and are completely slathered by waterproof goop making it nearly impossible to easily remove the wires. I really don't want to cut the wires just in case I plan on adding things back in later on.
The question is how to remove the pins from the block? I've got a weatherpack removal tool with all different pins on it, but for the life of me I can't seem to get this connector out. Since the plastic casing is so tall it's difficult to get the pin from the weatherpack tool into the casing. Combine that with not being able to clearly see anything since there's so much crap in there it's driving me nuts.
Does anybody have a good method of removing the connector, or at least a clear picture of where the locking tab on the connector is? I want to start disconnecting things like the A/C, cruise, leftover ABS wires, etc doing is cleanly.
Any tips are appreciated.
