Need opinions on this truck.

I looked at Sy #610 tonight. Its in great shape, no rust that i could find. 100km, pretty much all stock. Starts and idles great, but i wasnt able to drive it far because its not on the road. I think i can scrounge up a dealer plate tomorrow so i can drive it.

Current owner is not on the boards.

Obviously i need to drive it before i do anything, but what do you guys think is a fair price if it all checks out.

whats the rest of the interior look like , I see a cracked dash by the vents already .

Dont people know a clean truck always sells for more than a dirty one ? Usually that screams "I dont take care of it like I should."

Interior was in really good shape for 100k. For a cali and hawaii truck i expect some small cracks. I need too see it again in good daylight to be sure of the paint. But def. no rust and frame looks great.

Drove it today, runs great, shifts nice and hard. Doesnt blow smoke or have and blow by. All original except for some gauges as far as i could tell. Under carriage is so clean, can def. tell it hasnt seen winters. Paint is weird on the bedrails. I dont know if its from a tonneau cover or what, but it no big deal. Cladding has been painted, but it looks good.

$6700 a good price?

Ryan, the mirrors are not original, clear lenses are not original, antenna is 50% gone, shocks are not original and exhaust is not original. On a POS note, I do see the OEM sticker in the bed so it doesn't scream to be a repainted truck. I would present $6,000 cash and you will probably drive the truck away but cloneman315 and I are thinking alike on this one......not a penny more than $6,000.

Yeah mostly original i meant engine/drivetrain wise. Propshaft, I/C lines, vac lines, etc. The headlights are aftermarket same with the tails. Stuff thats east to get back stock.

If you see anything thats fishy definately let me know though. Thanks for looking out T-Bone

Is that road grime underneath it, or just a pile of brake dust. Also what's with the commercial vehicle part on the car fax? No rust is always a big bonus and that thing has almost none. 6k would be a good deal, and take it to a good shop and see if they can polish the paint.

I gotcha and you are certainly welcome. I am by no means an expert on these trucks but I have had my fair share of them and have a keen eye for a deal. That truck should clean up very nice and with a little effort, you could stand to make a $2500 profit if you wanted to. All the best taking it home soon :tup:

i bought mine about 3yrs ago pretty much bone stock(except for rear drop and superchip). it had ~101,000mi. paid $7,500 at a lincoln mercury dealership in WI. no rust when i got it, but within a year every fender/wheel well rusted through.

Guy just bought it in march? Its got here from hawaii, thats no where near cheap to ship is the owner ex military?

They look like those blazer fog lights wal-mart sells/used to sell that had the "crystal" coating on them. They were amber looking straight on and blueish from the sides. I used to love those fog lights on my daily driver until stupid pennsylvania made colored fog lights illegal.

He said he bought it about a year ago in Hawaii, and Moved back here in March. Yes he was in the military.
