    93 typhoon backfire

Listen to Dave about the slipped ring on the balancer. I had it happen on two of the three SyTy that I have owned. It happens very often and will screw up trying to get the timing set for sure.

Syclone #2236 is on jackstands again :)

Well if the fluid smelled burnt it will probably not be going much longer. Is it slipping in 2nd gear? Like the vehicle not moving faster when the throttle pedal is pushed down, only higher engine rpm? Yeah if that is the case. It is time to rebuild for sure.

    Turbocharger repair kit

Ei :) Make sure the downpipe flange surface fits flat against the turbo, it should. At least I have never seen a gasket for that location.

Syclone #2236 is on jackstands again :)

If the fluid doesn't smell burnt and if there are no chunks in the pan. I would change the fluid and filter and drive it if it were mine.

Wanted:Early 1992 Typhoon Black GMC grille letters

I think that I just used a can of black Rustoleum paint that I had. It would probably be better to use a paint that is made for a plastic surface but what I used lasted for years and was still going strong.

Wanted:Early 1992 Typhoon Black GMC grille letters

You could do it. It is really no problem to do at all. Just tape off the part of the emblem that you are not painting so you do not sand it. The lightly sand the red part. It is plastic so you only have to hit the surface with a few sanding strokes maybe 3 or 4. Then I take that tape off, wash...

Wanted:Early 1992 Typhoon Black GMC grille letters

It has been several years since the black letters could be purchased new. Probably the only way to get them would be take off items. The last set that I had I ended up making. I ordered a new repo red set from LMC. Scuffed the red with 400 grit sandpaper and painted black. They turned out very...

Recorded a Datamaster file on Ty that's been stored for a long time

That is probably good enough. If not I bet someone will post to let us know.

Recorded a Datamaster file on Ty that's been stored for a long time

If I recall the rod was adjusted about right. If you adjusted the rod so that it is even with the stud I do not believe that is correct. I would have to see if I can find the correct amount by searching now. It changed once after the original suggested setting. I think in the beginning it was...

    Gearbox

Do you know how to check for diagnostic trouble codes? Here is a video that shows how to do it if you do not know. You can use a paperclip or piece of wire to get the codes. This guy tells you that you will get a code 12 for 3 times to start. That would be the check engine light flashing one...

    Gearbox

If you leave the transmission in D or OD and accelerate at maximum rate. Does the engine loose power like that also or only when manually shifting? I am wondering if your truck is over-boosting under hard acceleration. It will loose power just like the key in the ignition was switched off until...

    Chip identification

It looks like they either are not being made anymore or they stopped selling them. If you decide too try tuning with the Ostridge I have all of that equipment. Just let me know.

Is English not your first language? The shifting of the transmission is done mechanically. It seems that you are having problems shifting but I do not understand what the problems actually are.

    Chip identification

If your truck is stock and it was mine I would remove that chip and plug the stock chip in only and use it. The stock chip should be plugged in the side of that moates adaptor. Now if your truck is modified it will need a custom chip. Many use the TurboTweak chip. It is supposed to work well...

    Chip identification

That is a common setup that was used when tuning with Code59. It is very likely Code59 was used to tune the truck. One way to find out what is on the chip would be to get an Ostridge. The chip can be downloaded to the Ostridge. They can be purchased from Moates. I happen to have an Ostridge...

    Removing The Dashboard

I had to trim the one I bought also. The pictures that I posted show the area trimmed. It was easy and I thought that it turned out great. I would buy the one without the vents and cut them out myself if I ever replaced one again. The color on the one that I used was very good. But I am sure...
