3 Syclones and a Ty at Buick Nationals

Went to Buick Nats Saturday, saw 3 syclones. Two were making exhibition runs. Talked to one of the owners, found out one was Denny Raab's old truck. It was making some easy 10.60 passes at 126. The other was real clean with zr1s running 13.0s. Passed a third sy in the pits as I was leaving, couldn't get a good look but appeared to have altezza style taillights.

There was also a nice white ty in the vendor area. I think it was Dennis Kirban of Turbo Buick fame who was selling small parts out the back.

Seeing these helped make up for the low attendance, which seems to get lower each year unfortunately

I don't think Dennis has a Ty. I'll check with him...it was likely another vendor.

Just wondering what the attendance #s were.
You say it was low, but compared to years past how many cars/people actually made it out?

The ty was parked next to kirban with a bunch of buick stuff in the back. I just assumed it was his.

Not sure about the attendance numbers. I've gone every year since 99, and I do know that the last 3 years or so has seen less and less participants. I remember back in the day, there would be so many turbo cars, you would almost get tired of watching them run. And there used to be both a super 16 turbo and a super 16 big block class (the fastest 16 cars would compete). Lately they've had to combine big blocks and turbo cars bc of too few cars entering those classes. FWD class was down to just 2 cars from 8 or so. I had a good time, but TSM, TSO, etc just didn't have the numbers from past years.

Talked to Dennis. The Ty belonged to a guy who was with him. Paul Castle out of Chicago...says the Ty was a "GM Test Vehicle" and now has 20k miles.
