Yes,...you are reading correct! I was driving to pick up my wife in Port Chester, New York and there she was, (the Sy) in the lot of the local Tire place. I HAD to pull over and see the Sy up close. I pull in and the owner is looking for tires. I told him that I owned a Ty and showed him the pic (I was driving my Blazer). We B/S'd for awhile and then I ask,...what number is this?? He says, '#0007 and I think this was the first one for sale to the public.' This was true b/c I checked out the VIN. Well, I wish I had my camera, but I didn't =( .
The truck needs an overhaul on the outside (paint, chips and some of the bed needs to be strightened), engine looked solid, all stock (from what I could see) and the interior was good. He told me that he was going to go to Mexico and get it totally re-done (paint, etc.) The Sy had Connecticut plates on it and he also said that he has had the truck for a few years and I offered to purchase it right then, but he said he isn't going to sell it (oh well, I tried!). I didn't have that much more time to talk, (the wifey is waiting to be picked up), so I told him Good Luck and he said I'll see you around. If I see him again, I will try to snap a few pics and get some more info.

See my topic in Off-Topic about "GMC Representing" That topic also pulled an old post from our good buddy Eric Sy966 when I posted it. Sounds like a minor database corruption.

Yup, thanks for the props Ken.

#0002 is here in Michigan with super low miles on it.

He bought it straight of the dealer lot. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of it.

Edit: Here is the pic: http://www.tyclone.com/01calendarvote/19.jpg

Thats my Ty in the background.

Yes, conversion on the mirrors and if you look closely..you can see a small syclone windshield banner. The owners wife worked for GM at the time of purchase.

This was the truck that initialized the Window Banner option.

Merk, Ithought the banners were standard on the latter vined trucks and mailed to the earlier vind truck not really an option, unless it was the owners "option" yo install it or not
