I just got a pair for 6.5 components. Thinking of going with cadence speakers. Anyone ever used those? What do you suggest. I dont want to do anything major just those 4x6's in the dash and a 6" Amplified Bazooka behind the seat. I have the dolphin Pioneer head unit to push the rest. I just want comething better than stock. Any thoughts on Cerwin Vega Components? I Have 4x6 Cerwin's in the dash.

Todd,
IMO, Its real hard to get anything to sound good in the 4x6 dash location. I have Cerwin Vega plates in the 4x6 holes and it sounds like factory crap. Maybe I just need a good amp, but I think the sound quality of those speakers will still be poor in that location.

In the 4x6 location, get a set of 4 inch, mid's with tweeter made my MB Quart--Those sound AWESOME, but you'll have to build a minor plate that will allow you to set them in that location.

Installing components in the Q-Forms with the dash speakers also installed is really going to mess with your imaging. I would do one or the other - and it would be Q-Forms or something along those lines.

High frequencies don't handle reflections too well. MB Quarts are awesome, but aiming them straight at your windshield will make them sound like ass. In the dash location, your imaging will also be pretty sucky, as one speaker is quite close, while the other is further away. With speakers in the kick panels, there is a much smaller difference in the distances that the speakers are from your ear. This will make it sound like you're sitting front and center, instead of along the auditorium wall.

My advice is to combine the others' advice. Get some 5.25" or 6.5" MB Quart components for your kicks. =)

If you want them I will let them go for $100, but to be honest... They are not very good. Very light plastic and they stick out into the foot well area big time. That is the reason I took them out and made my own. Let me know if you like them.

I have Q-forms with 5 1/4" MB Quart components in my Ty and also have Pioneer 4x6's in the dash...sound really great (no real imaging probs) with Alpine amp and eq, but Silly Wabbit is right about them taking up a lot of precious floor space...you have to be real careful getting in/out to keep from kicking, scuffing them. I may have to take mine out if (when) my girlfriend puts her heal through the one on the passenger side.
