bad knock sensor?

went out and did a couple DM runs tonight...

when im stopped and rev the engine, i get 3* of knock @1225rpms whats up with that?? could that mean that the 8*-9* spikes im getting could be false? im sure im getting some knock considering im usin shitty 91oct.

also when at idle i have 24.3 spark advance, is that normal?

do the knock counts go up when you see this knock? With the stock chip in mine does the same thing. when I rev at an idle I get 3*kr but the counts do not climb.

Howdy,

24* spark advance could be normal at idle, depending on the chip. Have you done a knock sensor test, clapping on the engine with the truck idleing? Did the knock cound raise? Anyway, knock sensor is cheap, so you can replace it. It's not that hard to access it either. I can replace mine with the removal of the driver side plug wires and the accesorry bracket, which holding the MAP sensor and coil. Use a 22 mm deep socket and some extensions.

my counts do not climb either...

i will try doing a "clap" test on it later today and see what happens. but if the sensor is good, something would have to be wrong to be getting 3* just from revving the engine, no?

Mine does not do it with the pit bull in but does it with the stock chip in. Is this somthing that atr disabled or could my stock chip be bad?

Unfortunatley since i dont have this condition, i dont think i want to specd the time trying to find what all the Nxxxxxx values have to be for this to occur.

Think you could simply provide a short description in laymans terms what burst knock is.
