Bad msd coil???? HELP

Ok... ever since i started getting the 'no start, no spark' sydrome, (just cranks) i changed my Cap/Roter and Igition Module.

Sometimes it starts...but i think when engine bay gets hot, is usually when it happens. It will crank, but NO SPARK still. Had to pull syclone 1/4 mile to our shop...once it got there...it started right up. Drove to garage at home, turned off... and then no start. IS THIS A BAD MSD COIL?
Or possibly that Y splice from stock connectors?
Or how about a bad Pick up Coil.
What do u guys think? Change back to stock coil?

I also unpluged the single MSD connector from atop the coil, and plugged the (2) stock seperate plugin's back to the coil. I also detected 2.5 volts on one of the leads... Wiring or Coil???

ANy help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Coils just dont fail very often

1) Find an old (but good) plug wire.
2) get a spark plug
3) stick the wire on the spark plug
4) stick the other end of the wire onto the coil output.
5) hold plug onto a grounded object upper intake will do.

THere should be a constant very strong spark. Keep the plug and wire handy and you can do this test seconds after it acts up this way it wont cool down on you.

might want to check the ecm..my truck acted the same way.the truck would die(would crank,no spark) and after 20 mins. it would start right up.get another 1/4 mle down the road and die again.

My bad, wont happen again.

I've switched ecm's also... i have 2 of them laying on the floor. U wouldn't think they would both do this? Hope not.

Thanks

When it happens, it doesnt even try to start.... just turns over. I replaced the msd coil with a new coil from my local Big A/carquest store. Hasn't acted up yet. I am about to drive 5 hours to kc....lets hope it doesn't happen. Say a prayer for me please

See ya.

I have one and havent had any problems.

I have had problems with the 6a ignitions when used on other toys and they were always happy to fix or replace.
