This was the second fastest run of the day for me. as you can tell, I was aiming at a mustang...

This is a good perspective for what other cars looked like. This is a good friend of mine and he did pretty well I thought. Its a lex sc300 twin turbo 1jz with alot of rubber under it and coilovers.

In my opinion I did really well. If you look in one of the pics above theres the #89 esp mustang. That car was sitting on 12 inches of race rubber and was tralored there. It was a purpose built car. I was within 3 seconds of his best run, and right there with him on his other runs. I could have shaven off a second with the way I was entering that first slalom, I went though it backwards, or 'the slow way' I later found out.

Hell yeah Brian! Awesome to finally see someone else taking a serious interest in autoX!

That course looked really open, fast and fun. It's always fun and surprising in the end to find out what cars you either beat out in time or at least can hang with at least. Just because a car is decked out for race, doesnt mean it's the fastest vehicle there.

How were you liking the R1s? Youre stock suspension right?

Good Lord was that course fast! I've seen laps at the road course go slower than that. Good work, Brian.

sweet, always like being added to stuff, lol.

It was a pretty fast coarse, ecspecially the last half of it, In that video I can see there is some room for improvment, but its pretty good really.

The R1's where pretty great, ecspecially after the 1st lap. They felt great for roll, and they made enough noise for me to know what was going on with my grip. I would say if I hadn't had them I would have been running 7 seconds slower, they gave that much more grip. Keep in mind there was a mild evo and sti running int he 59s and 60s. I was told by at least 3 people that they were truely impressed with the truck and the way I was driving it (I did beat a foxbody running 345 wide RR slicks, caged, completely track preped with an 03 cobra motor, gutted to 2700 lbs, by 2.2 seconds)

as far as suspension goes I'm running a pretty not stock setup. qa1/600lb coilovers in the front with a zq8 box (stock everything else up there). Rear is a coil assist on the leafs to stiffen and a zq8 roll bar being held on with some polly sticks. I think the rear is lowered 4 inches and the front is ?

Cool video. Like mentioned above, you were flying around that thing. Any stories from people not knowing what the Ty was and being impressed? Or did everyone pretty much know what it was when you pulled up?

Cool video! Tires make such a huge difference in auto-x. From what I've seen slicks easily knock 5 or 6 seconds off of a 60 second course with no other changes.

Re: bmfb ty autox

They almost didnt let me run, they figured It would flip. I almsot had to show the one safty guy a video of it running another corse but he folded while I was pulling my phone out.

I had one guy come up to me and tell me his son helped design the formula 1 pace bravada or something. Told me it did 180. I started to rebute but, I kinda just let it be. He also refused to believe that the stock suspension was the same on the tys as the bravadas.

Pretty much everyone just thought I was some stupid guy with a truck until I did my first run. after that I had a lot of weird looks and had a couple small crowds of people come up and start looking at the truck, although no on dared asked me why it was so fast...

the coarse was pretty good. I was the second fastest thing out there that day. Only thing that beat me was a modded evox
