boost problem.

Re: boost problem.

Well I tried something on the way home from work. I removed the BOV and capped the port with a rubber plumbing cap and band clamp. The truck ran completely different! Made boost
right up to 19 psi that's as far as I wanted to push her. The truck had more but I am not willing to hurt it. It still needs to be fine tuned. That rubber cap must have been stressed also. I am going to order a lighter spring for the BOV. I don't think it was functioning correctly. I also want to find a better place to pick up the Vac line from. I was thinking of the BOV having a designated line right off the intake. I wonder if I can utilize that big nipple on the back that everyone plugs? Thanks for all the help guys!! I'll keep you posted on the final outcome.

Re: boost problem.

You may definitely have a bov issue, but the spring in the bov is only used during vacuum, it should have little or no effect on its operation in boost, as boost holds the valve shut. yes, that Tial bov requires it's own vacuum line. lmk how your making out...

Re: boost problem.

Yep it does need a dedicated line. I am ordering a new Vac hit this morning from Sportmachines. I want to change out my PCV system and see that you have a catch can on both valve covers of you engine Matt. Can you PM me or let me know how all you went about
that. I have the line from before turbo to PCV valve with stock fitting to the pass side valve cover PCV port with the second valve heads over to a catch can then up to the intake. There
is just a filter on the drivers side. I will pick up some valve covers with the -AN fittings for vortecs.

Code what?
Re: boost problem.

Is it using the factory boost solenoid? Have you verified it is connected right? It also wouldn't hurt to check the condition of the turbo compressor blades. What are you using to monitor boost?

If you still want to run a catch can off each valve cover and want to see how I did it in person just call me (if you still have my cell) or pm me. You can come by the house and check it out next time your up this way....
