Code59 Tech Session Need Ideas

In the past Tech sessions at nationals have been hit and miss, more miss than anything.

I am excited this year that at least for code59 we will have the perfect chance to make it happen this year. I have not talked directly to Dig about this yet but I know he will be a part of it.

So I need your ideas, what do you guys want to know/learn?

I have about a 25 page powerpoint presentation I am working on that is setup for someone who has never done anything up until the point of actual tuning. The actual tuning itself will be hard to fit everybody into a truck to drive around.

I have also thought about custom ordering some flash drives say 1 g in size with code59 printed on them. Charge people the cost of the drive but each drive will be loaded with tunerpro RT, code59, autotune, bin files, basically all the files you would need to get started.

Give me some ideas.

I like the power point presentation... Also an Idea, if we had a projector, with a laptop hooked up to a truck and on the projector showing what you have to do to start using code59. This way everyone can see what is going on without having to be crammed into 1 truck. I can offer up my truck for that if need be.

Since we cant fit 20 deep in a syty , maybe some prerecorded events edited to show the process from start to middle . Then we should be ready to take it from middle to end .

Dont make a truck blow up but some what *not* to do in the video would prove just as valuable as *what* to do .

I like your ideas, Jeff. I won't make it to Nationals, but would like to know more about the powerpoint you have. I'd like to go to Code59 once the truck is running correctly stock.

I love both these ideas, the PP presentation and the flash dirve to take all the info home with me too. I'm excited to see and learn more, as a novice it's hard to wrap my head around these new things. But, I know I'm a smart guy and I can learn anything if I take the time, and hands on with expierenced help is the best way for me. I did not vote but I want both.

i'm not going to nats and don't use a stock ecm but the thought of being able to buy all the software in a package for 25 dollars would be nice

I will see what I can do about some preplanned videos, good idea on that one.

I could offer the flash drives to everybody, the $15 is just to cover the drive. I thought the code59 logo on the outside would just make it nice to remember what was on it. I had planned to include the PP presentation on it also.

A lot of the tuning topics will extend to FAST, BS3, etc. Not the install part, but tuning itself its all very similar. I have a few slides just explaining how fuel injection works.

IMO the problem at the past Nats was that everything wasn't scheduled on time, I didn't realized the code $59 was going on until after it was over.

I will agree with this. Some was my own fault.

This year it is scheduled in a manner if you don't know its going on and have a chance to be there it will be your own fault. We have rented a facility that will make this happen.

Keep us posted when you have an idea of what the total will be for the flash drive and the software (whatever it may be will be well worth it to me). Nats will be here before you know it and I CAN"T WAIT!

I can't be there this year (unless something changes), but whatever I can do to help long distance, let me know. We have some pretty good graphics capabilities here, so if you need help with charts, graphs, or whatever, just let me know.

Dig and myself are passing the presentation back and forth. We are trying to keep this at 1hr session, but we both know it will be difficult to do. If we go longer you guys might get bored, and just lack of time.

I am going to try to do some PRE videos for things like installing a WB, obviously everybody doesn't want to sit and wait for someone to run wires and hope it works when we are done.

Depending what Dig's thoughts are maybe we can video this and include the video in the flash drives for those after nats.

For those not running a stock ECM there is information on other systems in the presentation and really all the techniques work on any system when you get to tuning. How you connect may differ, the color of the screen, but the techniques are the same thing.
