Difference between 2 bar & 3 bar map sensor???

How can i tell if i have a 2 bar or 3 bar map sensor?

Is there a physical difference between them or is there any numbers on them that i can identify it?

Just got this truck and trying to figure out what it has.

Google the part number on it and see what you get.

Or you could put a two bar in... They will not read over 15lbs of boost. If you put a 3 bar in a two bar system it will not run right... The chip needs to be programmed for a 3 bar map.

A 2 bar map should read in the middle of the boost/vacuum gauge with the motor off and key on. A 3 bar will read approx. 1/3 of the way into vacuum.

Im still wrapping up my motor rebuild and still have not installed yet. Was just trying to figure out what it has as far as map sensor. When i got the truck the motor wasn't running so i dont know what the previous owner has done to it.

best thing to do is google the part number off of the sensor.

Can also use: http://www.robietherobot.com/storm/mapsensor.htm to check what it is.
