Does anyone have the model # for the
Black Magic fans? I want to replace the
stock with an electric, unless someone
has had a lot of problems keeping the
engine running cool. Do we use 1 large
one or 2 smaller ones? I know I've seen
this request before, but I couldn't find
it, sorry. Cecil..........

I've had the two SPAL fans, one 13" and one 14" fan. They flow great for electric fans, but they can't keep things cool in the summer with the AC on. They can't even keep temps consistent while sitting still - it begins to creep up quickly.

I put the stock fan and new shrouds back on and the truck stays super cool. 163*-170* all the time. Temps may rise just a bit while sitting in traffic with AC on, but they level off quickly and also drop quickly once I start moving again.

Stay with the stock fan. There are NO aftermarket fan kits that come with properly designed fan shrouds. Some have brackets and nice pieces to hang them over the radiator, but nothing forces them to draw air thru every fin of the radiator. It does make a big difference.

HTH!

i have 12" fans and a be cool rad, and the truck has a hard time getting over 160 sitting or driving but i dont have ac, so there is no condenser blocking air, but when the ac was still in there it would run about 170 with the air on jack

Your comments have convinced me to stay
with the stock set-up. Cecil............
