Failed Emissions

Help I have a 93 ty with 85000 I just changed the plugs,wires,cap. Gap the plugs right and everything went right on and started up. When today and got emissions test. failed under HC (hydrocarbons) (GAS) standards 220 me 304 FAILED. Everything else passed. The trunk is stock except for K&N in factory box and cat back pipe... striaght. Any ideas? thanks

The best moves U can make to pass the HC portion of the smog test are to raise the idle RPM as high as possible. U can usually get away w 1100 RPM. And get it as hot as possible - turn the AC on, and idle it a long time.

I have to pass an AWD sniffer test so I have tried tons of tricks...

run a 195 thermostat
Pull your IC pump fuse
Get truck HOT, drive an hour or so before pulling right up to the station
Leave the AC running on Low and hope they don't catch it
Run lower octane fuel, I go to E and put in $7 or so of 87 just to get me there and through the BS
FRESH Oil change and Plugs are a MUST
New PCVs help
I turn my FP down to about 40PSI and put a rag under my gas pedla so they cant go WOT on the dyno while its not even tied down


I am sure there is mmore I tried, but those are the easier things I did and recently passed, by how much I have no idea.
