Fitting 3" PTE DP

Hey PTE DP'ers,

Trying to fit the pipe and it looks like I will have to trim away the ridge where the 2 body sheet metal panels come together just above and a little behind the Starter.

Did youse guys have to do this ?

I bent it back towards the rear instead of cutting it.

The PTE pipe fits very tight without very much clearance.

My damn pipe is resting/rubbing on the frame... it needs bent backwards... like Patrick did im assuming. I already coated mine though... I hope i can bend it without having the coating flake off.

My whole exhaust sux :x

The fit is very tight but mine went in with no interference problems. I just spent the time twisting and turning and moving the downpipe up and down until it fit right. Putting exhaust together just takes patience for the most part.

The pipe on the frame problem can fixed by the postioning of the pipes and using the cat mount to put some tension on the DP to keep it away.

What I was referring to bending was the pinchweld area that has a small screw in it where the DP gets close to the firewall.

I had to bend the pinch weld back slightly for clearance. It took a LOT of positioning, but I did get the DP to slightly clear the frame.

Thanx, Guys. Sounds like bending this ridge back to flatten it out sounds like the way to go.

I suppose I'll need a heat shield on my aftermarket CVR starter. Trying to get it shimmed right now so it will engage.
