Golf Outing- Who's in?

I'm breaking out threads so that we can track things better.

I'm in. Dad will likely come and drink beer in the cart.

This is real golf not putt-putt! lol No frisbee's allowed. Right?

Yup. Long irons, no Frolf.

We'll be looking for cheap, hacker-friendly places. The snooty places generally don't have beer-cart girls.

As long as you have sleeves, you're generally good. No Chachi shirts, sorry.

Course ideas... if anybody has others, lemme know. We're looking for less-expensive, hacker-friendly places.

I have to work until 5 that Friday, so that'll probably make it difficult to synchronize with everyone's schedule. But, even though I'll likely not make it, this is my pick for a course, right off of 494 & 35E (and only a few miles from the Robert St. Famous Dave's for Dig):

Stonebrook in Shakopee is cheap (with online reservations) and Dwan in Bloomington is good. They are both aroung $45 for 18 and a cart. I am game for anywhere.

This one looks good to me... $40 with cart.

I'm thinking we can do a little scramble/Best-Ball... split into 2 groups.
We've got 6, we kinda need a couple more...

This is only 9 holes. For $40 thats high price. No matter to me. I am still in

That's the 2x around price. You play 18, but the same 9 twice.
I figure we'll be better at it the second time around.

Or depending on how much beer we get through, much worse.

Either way, it's a good day.

We should develop a contingency/backup plan in case of rain... someplace to go/do/see...

*EDIT* - How about SyTy bowling as a rain-out plan?

Two other courses to throw into the mix -- Como and Phalen. Fairly close to the hotel and fair grounds. Rates/info here: http://www.stpaul.gov/DocumentView.asp?DID=2029
Como: http://www.comopark.com/golf/
Phalen: http://www.stpaul.gov/index.asp?NID=817

~ Sunni, on behalf of my hubby :)

Como looks ok... roughly the same price, a full 18 holes, and it's really close to the fairgrounds.

We'll save Lost spur as a backup in case we can't get on Como (I suspect it'll be busy during the show).

I'll make tee times on like monday/tuesday of that week, if they'll let me do 'em that early.

I'll reserve for everybody who checks in here. Anybody got a time preference?
I was thinking 1:00-2:00. Yes, it's hot then, but that's what beer is for.

Ok. Como it is, pending getting a Tee time. I'll post the tee times by 7/22.
If you want to join in, post here (if you haven't already), and I'll get ya a T-time.

We'll just leave from the show to the course... looks like it's just a few blocks.

I'll update this info on the web site.

You mean 7/22, right?

It'll probably be closer to 2:00, in reality- I just wanted to give it a little range.

I figure 2.5 hours on the slow side for 18 holes.

The cars will still be there... we can just pile into the 'burb or something else to get to the course.
