HKS filter?

atomicmecha

I hate rust
I've seen pictures of some trucks running the HKS filter directly on the turbo but I can't find any details on the setup. Anyone know which filter number works best on the stock turbo? Guessing any one would work as long as the filter size matches the turbo's inlet size.

Anyone have opinions on them? Is it necessary to run a screen between the filter and the turbo?

I'm getting the electric fan setup from RPM shortly and want to also get a better air intake setup. Just do away with the crossover tube. Debating on getting the RPM kit or just get one of these HKS filters and put it on. Or maybe one of the flatter K&N filters?

Open to suggestions and advice.

I never like running the inlet right off the turbo- between the exaust and the radiator your sucking in a lot of hot air

not sure if you are thinking about the HKS "mushroom" filter. But if you are, i would steer clear. They are know to deteriorate and sent foam chunks into the turbo.

Most cold air intakes run a filter open to enginebay. you may gain 5 horspower by sealing off the filter, but its no big deal.

I ran this for 2 years.

now i run an open filter next to the radiator, and when i go racing, i run open compressor to enginebay air.
