hybrid rad...

my current stock rad is more than enough to cope with a "warmed up" V8

so for my combo I was thinking of having a combo rad/lower heat exchanger
made up (the 2 systems would be kept separate of course)

top 3/4 of it would be a performance style rad and the lower 1/4 (thermally broken)
would be heat exchanger with separate plumbing etc

this would be for mostly daily driving with the occaiaional squirt
or weekend drags

any thoughts ?

A warmed up V8 and a turbo v6 will generate similar heat. I'd wait and see if yours will still cool your engine adequately, before I did anything like you are suggesting.

my thinking was 3/4 of a much better (more cores ?) and newer rad would be better than a whole old one,

hmmm... the heat exchanger could be slightly smaller due to (more cores ?) as well so maybe i could consider a different ratio

is this making sense ?
