Hydroboost Rebuild

I am rebuilding the Hydroboost from a 94-95 Astro Van, the accumulator dump/check valve did not have a check ball in the plastic piston. I saw a Youtube video where a guy left it out and the system over pressurized, destroying the Hydroboost. In the comments of his video a person did not have a check ball in his particular Hydroboost and re-assembled it without it and was fine. There seems to be confusion on some Hydroboosts having a check ball and some don't.
Has anyone re-built theirs and can share if ours do or don't. I was very careful taking it apart looking for the check ball.
I got the re-build kit from Pirate Jack and will call them on Monday.

I have come to the conclusion that there is NO ball. Here is the link to the video posted on Pirate Jack's website where the re-build kit was purchased which caused me concern.

Then I found this diagram which better resembles our booster and clearly there is NO ball:

Did you get it back together and did it work without the ball? I’m having the same issue. I never seen a ball or even the rod inside the valve itself.

Not yet, hopefully ;later this year. This is a frame up project that I've been working for 11 years now, getting close though!

I seen on you tube after watching the video from Pirate Jack of what not to do and read the comments that some people said it was just the cap/valve with no ball or rod combo. My truck is my daily driver so I’m not sure I want to chance it but I have been researching it for two days now. Ugh. Good luck with your build I have a 67 Nove that I have been working on for 20+years. Sucks not having money.

You have me beat. My project has only been underway for just 19 years and 7 months. But who's counting?!

If it isn't money, its poor health, ect. Pick one, either one, or any thing.
